The Moment Of Truth

Synopsis

          Merlin's home village is attracted by warriors looking to steal the villages money and resources like food and such. Once the Warriors attack Merlin's mother seeks out Merlin in Camelot. Once the king, Othur, refuses to help the village because they aren't within his soil Merlin decides to go back and help defend his village. Morgana, Gwen, and Arthur all come along with him even though he never asked. 

          Once they get to the village the villagers decide to fight for their right to keep what they earn. Merlin then has to decide whether he is willing to show Arthur and the villagers his true self to save them, or let the Warriors kill most if not all of them by keeping it a secret. 

Review

          To be honest in this episode Anderson from Sherlock is in it and I love him. I know all you Sherlock fans reading this might hate me for saying this, but I actually really like Anderson...and this episode, because the actor who plays Anderson is in it, made me realize how much I do like Anderson.

The Labyrinth of Gedref

Synopsis

ARTHUR KILLED A UNICORN! 

           As you can tell from ^ in this episode of Merlin, Arthur kills a unicorn while hunting and brings a curse upon Camelot and all the villages that are under Othur's rule. 

          Arthur has to undergo tests to prove he is pure of heart before the curse is lifted. If Arthur doesn't pass the test the kingdom will continue to live without food and water. 

Review

          I really did love this episode a lot. It is probably my favorite so far, but that is because I love unicorns. At first when I saw that there were going to be unicorns in it I was scare that they were going to make me scared of unicorns, but they kept them pure of heart and nice which was really amazing.

To Kill The King

Synopsis

          Gwen's father is caught helping a Toreen so he is sentenced to death even though he didn't know he was working with a sorcerer. Morgana is furious about this because she cares deeply for Gwen. Morgana finds a stone that belongs to the Toreen so she goes and meets them and Morgana then plots to kill Othur with the help of the Toreen so Arthur can reign and make a stop to the killing of people who have to do with magic. 

Review

          This episode was honestly heart breaking for me because I loved Gwen's father and I love Gwen. I am actually starting to ship Gwen with Arthur too. Honestly I will ship Gwen with whoever makes Gwen the happiest because she deserves happiness! I want her to be happy, she needs to be happy, end of story. She is too nice to not be happy.

Le Morte d'Arthur

Synopsis

          In this episode of Merlin Arthur is bitten by a Griffin and if you are bitten by a Griffin you are destined to die and there is no cure. Merlin seeks out the help of the dragon and he tells Merlin that a Griffin is made from the old religion, so only something that comes from the old religion can save Arthur from death. 
          Merlin seeks out the Island where the center of the old religion is. When he gets there he soon figures out that the coast to save Arthur's life, is for someone else to die. A life for a life. Merlin then offers his own life in order to save Arthur's. 
          When Merlin gets home from the island he give Arthur the cure and then the next morning something that nobody planned for happens. Merlin and Arthur are both still alive, but someone is dying in Merlin's place and Merlin is not happy about the decision. 

Review

          I literally loved this episode so freaking much. It is probably my favorite. This episode was also a tear jerker, defiantly a tear jerker. There are a total of EIGHT times where the show makes you think someone is going to die. And I thought the directors of Sherlock and Doctor Who were cruel.

I give this episode a 5 out of 5 stars for sure. 

Merlin A Remedy to Cure All Ills, The Gates Of Avalon, The Beginning OfThe End, and Excalibur

A Remedy To Cure All Ills

Synopsis

          Morgana falls ill and Gaius is brought in to try and heal her, when he is unable to heal her the king seeks help of a physician who just came to Camelot claiming he has a remedy to cure all illnesses.

          The king allows this physician to work on her and he ends up healing her and tells the king the Gaius was wrong and he eventually ends up telling him that Gaius is wrong on a lot of other things gaining the king's trust fast because he cured Morgana. Gaius eventually learns the truth about the physician and finds himself in some pretty deep trouble as he doesn't know what to do. 

Review

          I loved this episode, I find that it was very attention grabbing. Can I just say this, I love Gaius, he is so adorable. Also, I love the fact that he loves Merlin so much and it's just amazing I love him.

The Gates of Avalon  

Synopsis

          Morgana has a nightmare one night that a woman is drowning Arthur and the next day that woman shows up in Camelot. 

          The woman who was in Morgana's dreams wants Arthur to fall in love with her and eventually uses magic on him to make him fall In love. Her father and her need Arthur because in order to be granted immortality they need his soul. 

Review

         I didn't like this episode as much as others, but that is probably because of the fangirl within me. I did not ship Arthur with that girl at all and that was pretty much all I could think of while watching this episode. Because when a fangirl, like myself, does not like a ship WE ARE NOT HAPPY UNTIL THAT SHIP IS DESTROYED! 

I would give this episode a 2.5 out of 5 stars. 

The Beginning Of The End 

Synopsis

           In this episode of Merlin there is a young boy who's father was killed because he was practicing magic. The child calls out for Merlin in his head asking him for help. Merlin gets him to a safe place in Morgana's room and they hid the child from the guards. 

           Merlin soon figures out that if the boy lives Arthur's future later on will be troubled by said boy, but instead of letting him die Merlin helps the boy escape and go back to his people. 

Review

           I really enjoyed this episode of Merlin, like a lot. I love when shows do this sort of stuff where they foreshadow I love it. In this episode they foreshadowed at the end with this little boy, they told us his name, and I indeed did have to look up the name, but DAMN! WAS NOT EXPECTING THAT!

Excalibur 

Synopsis

           A sorcerer has brought one of Othur's enemies back to life and when the black knight comes back and challenges whoever picks up the gauntlet to a match to the death everyone who fights him dies. 

           Merlin and Gaius come up with the consensus that he is in fact brought back from the dead and the only way they can defeat this black knight is if they use a magical item. When Merlin goes to talk to the Dragon who is able to forge such a weapon he makes it, but tells Merlin that it is to be used by Arthur and Arthur only and something happens and it isn't used by Arthur

Review

           I think the reason that I loved this episode so much was because it is one of the first episodes where Othur is showing kindness and love towards his son when he refuses to let Arthur fight because he know he will die. 
          Also, Can we admire the Dragon in this show. This dragon is chained down and cannot go anywhere and he has probably been through hell and back, but he still decides to help Merlin keep Arthur, the son of the man who imprisoned him, safe. 

I give this episode a 3.5 out of 5 stars

Merlin The Mark of Nimueh, The Poisoned Chalice, and Lancelot

Season 1 episode 3 The Mark of Nimueh

Synopsis 

          In Episode three, season 1 of Merlin people's skins are turning a shade of blue and they are dying. With Merlin's help they figure out it is the water supply that is poisoning the people of Camelot and there is something called an avank in the water supply. 
          Gwen's father soon grows ill and Merlin heals him, but the king find Gwen guilty of the crime and sentences her to death. Merlin, Arthur, and Morgana all go to defeat the avank and save Gwen from her certain death. 

Review 

         I liked, but didn't love this episode of Merlin. I think it was a very interesting episode and it defiantly did keep my attention the whole time I just think that I didn't like the plot line all that much. 

         I will say this, I ship Merlin and Gwen all the way do I ship it. 

I would give this a 3 out of 5 stars 

Season 1 episode 4 The Poisoned Chalice

Synopsis

          In Episode four, season 1 of Merlin there is a powerful sorcerer and she disguises herself as a maid. Camelot has just made a friendship with a kingdom they have been fighting with for ages. The sorcerer decides to trick Merlin by telling him the cup Arthur is about to drink out of is poisoned, which it actually is. 

          Somehow she knew that Merlin would drink out of the poisoned cup, so all this goes to her plan. Merlin get incredibly I'll and Arthur has to go out and collect the leaves of the flower that is making him so I'll in order to cure him, but they aren't easily found. 

Review 

          Unlike the last episode, I loved this episode. I think this episode caught my attention much better and it had a much better plot line all together. Plus Arthur is extremely attractive when he is fighting, I have to say. Again, I ship Merlin and Gwen so very much.

Season 1 Episode 5 Lancelot

Synopsis 

           A Griffin has come to Camelot and it likes to feed on the people of Camelot. Merlin is one of the first people to encounter the Griffin and he was saved by a man named Lancelot who is on his way to try to win the title of a knight. 

          Once Lancelot gets to Camelot him an Merlin soon figure out that he cannot become a knight unless he is of noble blood. They find a way around that, or do they think. 

Merlin and Lancelot figure out that the Griffin can only be killed by magic which the King refuse to believe because he is anti magic. 

Review 

           I LOVED this episode. I think this episode was incredible. I also think that Lancelot is very attractive...whoever cast the characters for Merlin has a good eye for attractive men. Arthur, Lancelot, and Merlin are all very attractive. I mean look at them.
